The Italian cuisine contains a myriad of favourite dishes that set most people's mouths in motion. In our opinion, the Italian cuisine is one of the best cuisines our planet has to offer.

There are a lot of great Italian restaurants in Copenhagen, and we have unfortunately not visited them all (yet).
Here, we give you our bid on a list of 15 of the best Italian restaurants that Copenhagen has to offer. You will definately find amazing flavors from the Italian cuisine in all of these places.

Cicchetti, Italiensk Restaurant København

1. CICCHETTI

At Cicchetti you will find a large selection of Venice-inspired small dishes, which are perfect for sharing over a good glass of wine or more. They have a great selection of snacks and dishes as well as carefully selected wines so you can challenge your taste buds. The colorful restaurant is a small cozy oasis in the heart of Nørrebro. After dinner, you can go next door for a negroni or two, at Cicchettis own bar, Paradiso.

2. MANGIA

Mangia is especially popular for their classic Italian pasta dishes, made to perfection with great respect for history and culture. The menu also offers both antipasti and other Italian specialties - with guarantee something for anyone with a love for the Italian cuisine. They have a careful selection of Italian and French wines to complement the delicious dishes, paired with a personal and professional service.

Scandinavia meets Northern Italy. At the Italian restaurant Brace, in addition to the good service, you get a restaurant experience that includes both the Northern Italian and the Scandinavian cuisine. Here, the inspiration is taken from their grandmothers, who testify to the classic Italian kitchen craftsmanship. The wines are sourced from smaller natural wine producers around Europe.

4. FABRO

Fabro, in inner city of Copenhagen, is owned by a group of friends with a great love for the Italian cuisine. They have created a welcoming and informal place with quality pasta for fair pricing. A small but careful selection of pasta dishes and antipasti on the menu. It's a very popular and well-visited Italian restaurant and it's not yet possible to book a table - so hurry down there and grab a seat, it's first-come, first-served.

6. MASSERIA

Masseria is the newest pasta bar in Copenhagen and has just open up for booking from tomorrow. Hurry up and be one of the first to try this delicous new place. You will find it in the popular Kødbyen in Vesterbro and they are a sister restaurant to Brace, which we have already spoken warmly about further up this post. At Masseria, their specialty is fresh pasta and their dishes are prepared daily with a focus on local, organic ingredients. You will also find a careful selection of delicious starters and all the dishes on the menu are for sharing, so you don't have to settle for just one

As the name suggests, Bar Pasta offers a wide selection of tasty pasta dishes, but the menu also includes other classic Italian dishes and desserts. The place offers an informal and cozy atmosphere with the possibility of outdoor seating during the summer months. If you are into pasta with plenty of parmesan, you should definately visit Bar Pasta!

 

8. OSTERIA 16

On atmospheric Ravnsborggade you will find the Italian restaurant Osteria 16. Here, the menu is made up of simple and classic antipasti based on fresh ingredients and raw materials imported directly from Italy. The well-thought-out wine menu can be seen with the few but diverse wines.

Two young Italians run this hip restaurant in Store Kongensgade. Barabba is a fun place with a clear sense that all things must be a bit festive. The food is Italian with both traditional and more modern touches - they are especially popular for their exquisite pasta dishes.

Want to taste one of the best Pizzas in Copenhagen? Then you should definately make your way to Baest. With a sharp focus on sustainability and the use of local ingredients in season, they create some of the best - and even award-winning - pizzas you can dust up in the capital. Baest describes itself as a “Nørrebrosk” restaurant, but is added to this list of the best Italian restaurants, precisely because of their wonderful pizza.

9. TÈRRA

Tèrra means “the earth” and is known for their love of nature as well as the use of the organic ingredients we surround ourselves with right now. Their ingredients therefore come from biodynamic farms, fishermen and producers. The ever-changing menu always offers great taste experiences that are also a delight to the eye.

12. BEVIAMO
Nordre Frihavnsgade 58, 2100 Copenhagen Ø


Beviamo means "let's drink" in Italian, and is used as a general invitation to have a festive evening. And that's exactly what they want with their place. Beviamo is a wine bar and dining bar, and they have created a cozy and authentic place on Østerbro filled with passion, love, authentic dishes, good wines and most importantly, good people. You usually find 3 antipasti, 3 pasta and 3 dolce on the menu.

13. ITALO DISCO
Oehlenschlægersgade 5, 1663 Copenhagen V

At this Vesterbro restaurant, you will find a modern trattoria that combines raw materials imported directly from Italy with the best from Danish waters. Here the menu changes often and always according to season. As they themselves describe it, the food is prepared "as mama would make it added some sharpness and finesse".

14. MOTHER
Høkerboderne 9-15, 1712 Copenhagen V


Mother in Kødbyen was one of the first restaurants to open here, and they have literally been fully booked ever since. The pizzas are delicious and are usually what guests come for, but we would also recommend their weekend brunch. Mother has never disappointed. Except when we haven't been able to get a table, hurry up and book here and get a bite of a great classic in Kødbyen in Copenhagen.

Giuseppe Oliva grew up in a family that has baked bread since 1941 and describes how he was brought up on bread, sun and flour. He has taken these historical traditions with him and added modern skills, creating unique pizzas that we strongly recommend you to try.
